These terms govern your use of the Tapworth website, the consumer receipt wallet, the merchant dashboard, and the TapScore Identity API (together, the "Service"), operated by Tapworth Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. By using the Service you agree to these terms.
1.The Service
Tapworth captures itemised receipt data from an inline NFC terminal and turns it into three products: a consumer receipt wallet with an AI agent, a merchant analytics dashboard, and TapScore — a behavioural financial-identity score available to consented third parties via API. The Service is currently offered as a pilot; features, limits and pricing may change as it develops.
2.Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. Merchant and partner accounts must be opened by someone authorised to act for that business. The Service is not available where its use would be unlawful.
3.Your account & responsibilities
- Keep your sign-in credentials and any API keys confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- Provide accurate information and keep it current.
- Merchants are responsible for installing the terminal as instructed and for the accuracy of the receipts their point-of-sale produces.
- API partners must only query a consumer's TapScore for a purpose that consumer has actively consented to, and must honour the scope and expiry of that consent.
4.Acceptable use
You agree not to: reverse-engineer, probe or circumvent the Service's security; submit false or others' personal data; scrape, resell or redistribute data obtained through the Service except as expressly permitted; use the Service to build a competing dataset; or use it for unlawful, fraudulent or abusive purposes. Automated lead-form submissions and attempts to evade rate limits are prohibited.
5.Intellectual property
The Service, including the terminal firmware, software, TapScore methodology, brand and content, is owned by Tapworth Ltd and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service as intended. Your own data remains yours; you grant us the licence necessary to operate the Service and to compute derived products such as TapScore.
6.Pilot, availability & changes
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis during the pilot. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may add, change or withdraw features, and may suspend the Service for maintenance. We engineer for graceful degradation, but availability is not guaranteed during the pilot phase.
7.Limitation of liability
TapScore is a behavioural indicator, not a regulated credit reference or a guarantee of creditworthiness, and must not be the sole basis for a lending decision. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tapworth is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, for lost profits or data, or for decisions made by third parties relying on TapScore. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Where liability is permitted to be capped, our aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the preceding three months or £100.
8.Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms or where required by law. On termination, the data-handling described in our Privacy Policy applies.
9.Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, save that we may seek injunctive relief in any competent jurisdiction. Where the Service is used in the UAE, you also agree to comply with applicable ADGM rules.
10.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the "last updated" date will change and continued use after an update constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be notified where we hold your contact details.
